A while back there was discussion on using this tape to secure bindings. Unfortunately, most of the sources for this tape required you to purchase 144 rolls for many hundreds of dollars.

I've found a source that sells this tape in small quantities. http://www.uline.com/AdvSearchResult.asp?Ref=Pwrshp&Source=A LL&keywords=3M+622
I have not purchased from these guys so I don't know how there service is.

I must have missed this discussion. Why is this 622 tape better than the blue stuff they have at Home Depot?

Seems like there must be something better about it to justify over $7.00 a roll.

its 10 times stronger than the blue stuff, its clear so you can see your binding joint under it, and its 5.78 per roll. Plus shipping

Also, CA doesn't degrade it like many masking tapes. So if CA runs under the tape, you are left with a pool of just CA, not CA with a gooey glob of tape muck.

Good point Paul - the LMI brown stuff is nearly impossible to get off when it mixes with CA

I tried to order from hillas and they wouldn't sell it to me. Oh, I tried to order the 3/4". They will sell the 1/2" by the roll. The other widths are by the case only. (48 rolls)

I also ordered 3 rolls from Hillas after it was first mentioned here. I had no problems but didn't try and order the 3/4". They shipped very pronto.

I ordered a couple rolls just now.
Sounds like the cat's meow.
Thanks for the heads up!
